bell è un ottimo produttore, grande con bjork ma anche il remix di lie to me (con il nome LFO) è una roba proprio bella, forte, aggressiva, in sintonia con lo stile depeche.
secondo me ha voluto passare un po troppo le atmosfere bjkorkiane ai depeche e dato che il materiale che aveva era piuttosto soft e sereno (mai un martin cosi sereno e rilassato nei testi e nelle melodie) nè uscito un disco un pò moscio, bello ma non al livello degli altri, sottotono...

Ecco cosa diceva Martin nell'intervista dell'aprile 2001 (ce ne è anche un'altra dove ne parla, forse è sul sito ufficiale ma non ricordo):

(...) And the other song that I sing on is "Comatose", which is, for me, one of the weirder songs and another one of my favourites on the record. It's the sound that's playing the chords on that, (it) is so on the edge that you feel like it's going to lose the plot. As it's going, it virtually doesn't back the vocal at all. It's like almost playing something a-tonal, but it somehow just about works. It sounds like some big steamboat in the background.

Secondo me 'Comatose' è bella mi piace molto di meno 'Love theme'!!!
Secondo me va bene l'arragiamento che ha xke crea un'atmosfera...adatta...infondo il titoo è comatose che arrangiamento si potrebbe fare x una canzone con questo titolo?

Occhio c'è Told You So in Some Great Reward (ma forse è uno scherzo). A essere pignoli, Dreaming of Me, Ice Machine, But Not Tonight e Agent Orange non ci dovrebbero essere perché non sono presenti nelle versioni originali degli album. A meno che non si comprendano anche le bonus track, o le edizioni extra-europee, ma allora sarebbero votabili anche Shout, Black Day, Pleasure Little Treasure, ecc. Oppure consideriamo le annate (1981..2001) in modo da comprendere anche singoli e b-side.
