"It just was the time to do it I guess. And except for an occasional demo where Martin delivered some really bare versions with just a guitar or piano, the demos usually were pretty much developed and had everything already in there that needed to be in there. In the studio we just record the tracks properly and add the production that they need.
Even Martin didn't mind a all. He was fine with it. The main problem we encountered was to actually find the demos. Basically the 5 people that you'd think who would logically have the demos would be Alan, Daniel (Miller), Dave, Martin and me. But as it ended up, Alan had them somewhere tucked away and couldn't find them directly and that was also the case with Daniel, Martin and Dave. I knew I had lots of demos but they were in storage so I dug them up. In the end I recouped about hundred demo songs - which also means that there are hundreds that we don't have anymore... and that includes for instance the demo for "Personal Jesus" which seems to be lost forever. Anyhow, in November last year I started listening to all of the demos and picked out the ones for this release. Don't worry, before you ask, there will be more demos released in the future but not with this current release. For "Sounds of the Universe" we will only release the ones that are known, nothing else"

che bel cd di demo!!! ci voleva proprio.. quella che mi ha colpito assolutamente più di tutte è stata wims, è completamente diversa, se fosse rimasta così non sarebbe mai diventata un masterpiece come lo è ora, secondo me.. invece alcune erano già bel delineate dall'inizio, owilm ad esempio, o i feel you.. nothing's impossible la trovo quasi quasi meglio nel demo, molto d'atmosfera.. belle le trombette in judas

Dalle demo emerge (se mai ce ne fosse bisogno) quanto ML Gore sia un Genio. Ma non come modo di dire. No, no. Proprio un Genio.
Strabiliante quanto ML GORE sia i DM. Quanto lo sia stato.
Si capisce preché Miller fosse perplesso sul risultato finale di SOFAD.
Si capisce che Nothing's Impossible, nuda, è meravigliosa!

alcune sono stupende...in particolare IFY e WIMS....quest'ultima è presente anche nel dvd..verso la fine (adesso non ricordo in quale filmato si trova) martin riceve un pacco e dentro ci sono le demo..e mette su WIMS...

Indovina un pò? Più d'accordo di così non potrei essere.
Ma non penso che veramente ci siano ancora dubbi su chi sia l'unica, inconfondibile anima dei DM.

ascoltare tutto quel bendidio è un sogno diventato realtà. Mi inchino di fronte all'enorme Talento di Martin.
